AP 08 Country FAST Challenge


In the tradition of AP, we have been having country challenges whereby different countries will compete against each other to be crowned the champion country for that year. And this year, we are going to be doing the AP FAST CHALLENGE as part of this Country Challenge event.

TRICKS
There are ten tricks to the F.A.S.T. challenge. The goal is to successfully complete all ten tricks in the fastest time possible and pass the yoyo over to your teammate until all 3 teammates complete all ten tricks.

The tricks are as follows:

  1. The Wind Up
  2. Gravity Pull
  3. Forward Pass
  4. Break-Away
  5. Around the World
  6. Walk the Dog
  7. Rock the Baby
  8. The Bikini
  9. Stop and Go
  10. Skyrocket

RULES
Each team will comprise of 3 members only. Only 1 yo-yo is allowed to be used by ALL 3 members. The first member will start the FAST Challenge, finish all 10 tricks, then pass the yo-yo to the 2nd team member in ANY way he chooses as long as he completes the last trick before doing so. Then, the second and third member will start their list of tricks without the wind-up. (i.e. starting from gravity pull)

The time is stopped when the last team member completes his final trick. All competitors are required to re-do any trick the judge deems is incomplete.

Only when a competitor catches the yo-yo in his/her hand is the trick considered complete. Dropping the yo-yo on the floor will be considered as incomplete and he/she will have to re-do that trick. 

This also applies during the handover of yoyo. If the 2nd or 3rd team members drops the yo-yo when it is passed to him/her, the previous team member WILL have to redo the last trick and repeat the handover.

Countries with less than 3 representatives are allowed to pool players from another country with less than 3 representatives to take part. (Eg, if only one Singaporean attending AP and if only two Japanese attending AP, Singapore and Japan can join as a team.)

Each member may only have one team.

Only the FAST 201 may be used in this contest.

There will be 2 rounds to this Country FAST challenge. The Heats round and the Elimination round.

HEATS

As there are 20 teams, 4 will be knocked out in the Heats round, leaving 16 to qualify for the Elimination round.

Each team will be given 3 tries and the best timing of the 3 tries will be taken as the qualifying time.

ELIMINATION

The teams with the fastest total time of all 3 members will proceed to the next round in the elimination format until the final 2 teams are left standing to battle head to head for the finals.

Prizes

The champions will receive a limited edition A.P. Yoyofactory 888 and a medal each!

All countries are to select their own team of 3 members and register them before AP08.
